About
May lead or monitor work groups consisting of staff, interns, and volunteers covering a wide geographic area. Financial responsibility may include working within a budget to complete projects, negotiating and contracting with vendors, assisting with budget development and fundraising targets. Building strong networks with fishers, conservation partners, government officials, donors, board members, and the public. May work under minimal and/or physically distant supervision and may make some independent decisions based on analysis, experience and context. May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances. Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
What You'll Bring
BA/BS degree (in biology, ecology, fisheries management, natural resources, or related field) and 2 years of related work experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience, such as an associates degree and 4 years of experience). Experience with fisheries or conservation work Experience coordinating multiple projects and handling business communications. Fluency in English and Kosraean language
Desired Qualifications
Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated. 2 – 4 years related experience in conservation, fisheries management, data collection or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in Kosrae and/or other Pacific Islands. Knowledge/understanding of current trends and practices in conservation and fisheries or similar field. Ability to complete tasks independently with respect to timeline(s). Working knowledge of common software applications (e.g.; Word, Excel, Web browsers). Communicating clearly via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.
Salary Information This position will be based in Kosrae, FSM. The starting pay for this position is generally within the range of $31,400-$36,000 for annual base salary and is based on location, qualifications, skills, and experience. Your geographic location and employment authorization will be confirmed during the recruitment.
