About

Technical Team Lead, Software Engineering (Payments/C#/.NET/SQL) Location: Irvine, CA. Office Monday through Thursday with work from home on Friday. Job Description As a team lead on the payments team, you will manage 3–5 engineers and be responsible for the processing of approximately $6 billion annually across ACH, cards, and digital wallets, and for handling 1099‑K information returns. You will design, implement, and maintain highly visible Apartments.com web applications that touch millions of users, working closely with Engineering Leaders and Product Managers to scope and refine changes to the Payments product. You will translate feature requests into clear technical plans and deliver them quickly and safely, adopting new tools, techniques, and AI to raise the quality and pace of delivery. Responsibilities Lead a team of 3–5 engineers in the payments domain. Scope and refine product changes, translating feature requests into technical plans. Deliver new features and enhancements in an Agile Scrum environment. Apply automated testing processes and ensure high quality code. Drive continuous improvement and adopt new tools and technologies. Collaborate with Engineering Leaders and Product Managers. Represent the team confidently and build consensus. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university. 10+ years of development experience. Strong web development and troubleshooting skills. Experience with C#, ASP.NET, SQL/PostgreSQL. Experience in developing server‑side rendered and single‑page web applications. Experience in fast‑paced Agile Scrum environments. Understanding and implementation of automated test processes. Strong project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels. Excellent team building, negotiation, and consensus building abilities. Ability to motivate and build high‑performance software development teams. A track record of commitment to prior employers. Preferred Qualifications and Skills 1+ years of team leadership experience managing direct reports. Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React. Experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, SQS, Aurora, Lambda). Experience with Redis. Commercial real‑estate knowledge is a bonus.
