Job Summary and Responsibilities Campus Float Pool III Become a highly valued, adaptable Registered Nurse in our Campus Float Pool. This unique role at CHI Health offers an unparalleled opportunity to rapidly expand your clinical skills by caring for diverse patient populations across multiple departments and modalities. Earn significant tiered premium differentials (10%, 15%, or 20%) for your versatility, plus standard night/weekend pay. As a Registered Nurse you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient’s individual physician. This will involve utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.
Follow the nursing process which includes: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate. The nursing process is an ongoing process that can end at any stage.
Assessment - Demonstrates a systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze the following healthcare consumer data including: psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic and lifestyle factors
Plan – Sets measurable and achievable short and long term goals according to standards of care based on the assessment by the nurse in collaboration with the healthcare consumer and multidisciplinary team.
Implement – Implements and/or modifies the plan of care using assessment data, clinical reasoning based upon standards of care and evidence based practice. This includes care coordination, education and discharge planning. The nurse is accountable for the care directly, indirectly or through delegation. Professional and legal standards for delegation must be followed.
Evaluate – Uses a systematic ongoing process to evaluate progress towards identified healthcare consumer goals. Revision of plan of care when needed involving the healthcare consumer and the multidisciplinary team.
Documents all phases of the nursing process in the healthcare consumer’s record.
Job Requirements
Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska, Iowa, or nurse licensure compact.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
ACLS required within 5 months of hire
Preferred:
One year of RN experience preferred
Specialty certification (ex: CCRN, CNOR, CEN)
Additional certification or licensure may be required for some specialty areas.
PRN Requirements: PRN employees are to schedule at least four work shifts every schedule period, generally 4-6 weeks, with 2 shifts being weekend coverage. Based on department needs, PRN staff will be required to work one major and one minor holiday. Where You'll Work CHI Health Lakeside is West Omaha's only full-service hospital.
