About
Prepare medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and medication orders. Assist in the preparation of sterile and non-sterile compounds. Maintain accurate records, including labeling, documentation, and tracking of medications. Support inventory management by ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies. Deliver medications to patient care areas following established procedures. Monitor expiration dates and remove expired medications from inventory. Handle hazardous medications in compliance with safety policies and procedures. Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare team members. Report medication errors or potential issues in accordance with guidelines. Maintain and clean pharmacy equipment and automation systems. Participate in ongoing education and training program.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required. 6 months of Hospital Pharmacy Technician experience required. Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with state of Maryland. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required. Maintains continuing education requirements
