Job Type Part-time Description Shift Type: PRN; 8 to 16 hours per week, as needed The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for sterilization and maintenance of instrumentation and equipment in an efficient, safe and sanitary manner. Follows established policy and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements. Maintains quality controls.
As a representative of this facility, all comments, attitudes, actions, and behaviors have a direct effect on the center's image and perceptions of quality service. Interaction with patients, physicians, referral sources, guest, visitors, volunteer workers, co-workers, supervisors, vendors, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative and professional. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork that is congruent with the center's standards and guidelines to promote positive relations.
Responsibilities
Maintains supplies and equipment as needed for SPD in accordance with established policies and procedures and all manufacturer guidelines. Organize storage of supplies for efficient handling.
Maintain a catalog of procedure trays. Maintain instrument room areas in a safe, orderly and sanitary condition. Appropriately label all supplies and equipment for sterilization. Maintain instruments and equipment to assure proper function and integrity. Perform and log all necessary testing in the SPD department in accordance with all established policies and procedures. Assist with preparing instruments for the OR and prioritizes instrumentation for turnover. Works with OR staff ensure all loaner trays and equipment are in the facility and processed in a timely manner. Creates and maintains a safe and comfortable environment in the Sterile Processing department . Maintains current knowledge of AMII regulations as it relates to sterilization and supplies. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Certifications/Licensure
CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician) is preferred. Experience
Previous instrument technician experience is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ambulatory surgery center experience preferred. Technical Skills
Knowledge of sterile techniques. Understanding of standard practices and procedures. Computer skills, including EMRs, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Soft Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to function effectively in stressful situations. Ability to communicate in verbal and written methods. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
