About

The Financial Controller will oversee all financial operations within the accounting and finance department, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting. This role is based in Waterford and offers a great opportunity to manage financial processes in a permanent capacity. Client Details Our client is looking for an ambitious individual who wants to step into the Financial Controller seat and take responsibility for SOX oversight, group and statutory reporting and audits, tax, insurances, external reporting requirements and cash management. Description Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual group reporting in line with corporate timelines and IFRS/US GAAP requirements Oversee statutory financial statements preparation and submission in accordance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data across all reporting processes Maintain a robust financial control environment, ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures Own and manage SOX compliance framework, including documentation, testing, and remediation of controls Act as the key point of contact for internal and external auditors on SOX matters Continuously assess and improve internal control processes to mitigate financial risk Lead external and internal audit processes, ensuring timely delivery of audit requirements Coordinate with auditors and provide necessary documentation and explanations Manage corporate tax compliance, including tax returns, provisions, and liaison with external tax advisors Ensure timely submission of VAT, payroll taxes, and other regulatory filings Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure ongoing compliance Prepare and submit regulatory and external financial reports as required by governing bodies Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and banking relationships Monitor working capital performance and implement improvements where required Ensure effective controls over cash movements and treasury activities Manage company insurance policies, ensuring adequate coverage across all business risks. Profile A successful Financial Controller should have: A professional qualification in accounting or finance (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA). Proven expertise in financial reporting and analysis. Experience within audit, technical accounting, reporting and ideally has exposure within pharmaceutical or manufacturing environments. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in financial systems and tools. A strategic mindset with the ability to influence decision-making. Job Offer Competitive salary ranging from €70,000 to €90,000.
