EHS Safety Position Starting Pay: $21.00 / hour Additional $1.50 shift differential from 2:30p – 4:00a Shift: 1st with Flexibility Hours: 4:00 am – 12:30 pm This full-time position is part of the EHS (Safety) Department in our Stilwell, OK frozen desserts facility. Direction will be provided by the EHS (Safety) Manager. Additional support will be provided by the Manufacturing Manager and the site management team. What You Will Do:
Inspect machinery processes and procedures to ensure good health and safety practices. Work with contractors and ensure safety policies are followed. Monitor the production line and check if workers follow safety rules. Conduct daily safety training for new and current employees. Conduct safety training on a regular basis (weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc.). Conduct Environmental inspections as directed by EHS (Safety) Manager. Carry out examinations of machinery, working environments and structures, taking measurements of noise, heat, and vibrations, and taking photographs and samples where necessary. Ensure workers are provided with suitable protective equipment, such as ear protection or appropriate types of gloves and clothing. Investigate procedures for working in hazardous environments or with potentially harmful substances, as well as accidents and complaints. Participate as a member of the facility Confined Space Entry Team and Hazardous Materials Response Team.
What We Look For:
High School Diploma 1+ years of production experience and a natural curiosity for keeping employees safe. Intermediate personal computer skills including Microsoft Office. Strong communication skills and reasoning skills to provide a positive work environment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to learn and use safety computer system. Bilingual language skills are a plus. Perform all duties in compliance with existing USDA, OSHA, State, Federal, and company regulations, policies and procedures (including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and safety regulations). Stand and walk on concrete for long periods of time Work in a wide range of temperatures and conditions while being exposed to moving mechanical parts. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including but not limited to bump cap, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, hair and beard nets, gloves and safety shoes or rubber boots.
