.Demonstrates competencies that incorporate age-specific guidelines, including N = Neonate (less than 30 days) I = Infant (30 days to 1 year) EC = Early Childhood (1-5 years) LC = Late Childhood (5-13 years) A = Adolescent (13-17 years) AD = Adult ALL = all ages. Reads operating room schedule, anticipates needs, and sets up for respective case. Facilitates room turnover for cases to follow, including cleaning and preparation of room, equipment, and anesthesia components. Sets up, inventories, and restocks anesthesia and specialty carts to ensure all items are readily available. Inventories, orders, and maintains departmental supply stock consistent with departmental demand. Assists in lifting, turning, positioning, and preparing patients for surgical procedure, using proper body mechanics. Transports blood or specimens to laboratory. Escorts patients and families throughout hospital. Maintains hallways and equipment room by adhering to fire codes and keeping them orderly and free of obstruction. Maintains supplies in holding areas and keeps area free of clutter. Checks portable oxygen tanks daily and replaces if necessary. Achieves 75% attendance at staff meetings if applicable. Supports Joint Commission readiness.
