Location: Remote Duration: 18+ Month Type: Contract This position is approved for remote work. Remote onboarding will be required for the first day. Client is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer with expertise in SQL and Python programming to help modernize the ETL processes for a reporting data mart named HAL (Health Analytics Library). This work anticipates development and conversion of ETL pipelines, data tables and data processes and delivery of other HAL code updates in the current HAL on-premise environment, which currently ingests ETL data from the DSSURS data environment hosted in AWS cloud, and will also require continuity as preparations are underway for the future migration of HAL to the ODE (Oregon Data Environment) cloud Azure environment. Responsibilities:
Perform analysis of HAL data system as needed, including reviewing documentation and analyzing current HAL system/environment, data models, schemas and tables, data dictionaries, ETLs, system and database management processes, data quality, security, queries, and reporting environment. Work with project team members (PM, Client, DBAs, data analysts, architects), management, and users to identify and determine business and technical requirements. Gather and document detailed system, data, and integration requirements for HAL system improvements. Design, develop, and implement data pipelines using ETL processes and SQL tables that extract, transform, and load data into a HAL Medicaid data system/datamart. Migrate existing ETL processes built in legacy SAS coding to SQL stack and Python language/stored procedures. Review and analyze existing ETL SAS programming code and update it to SQL/Python language and procedures. Develop new SQL stack/stored procedure programming code to create new ETL processes. Test, troubleshoot, and implement new ETL code in test and production environments. Work with various program areas and business teams to make code as modular as possible. Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Math, or Data Science Hands-on knowledge of database tools SQL Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, and R Excel Agile Data Modeling Data Analytics Data Mining Data Visualization Familiarity with analytical tools such as SAS, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Pig Additional Information:
Approved for remote work. Remote onboarding required on the first day. All work must be performed within the United States. Candidate must be available during normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM PST). Background check completion may take two weeks or longer.
