About
Conduct comprehensive evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations through standardized tests and observational assessments. Create individualized treatment plans tailored to specific communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives. Facilitate personalized speech therapy sessions that focus on improving communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills. Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to design cohesive and integrated care approaches. Provide educational resources for patients and their families to reinforce progress beyond therapy sessions. Support with occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout each patient's journey. Keep meticulous and prompt documentation according to state, federal, and institutional standards. Engage in ongoing professional development through continued education and collaboration with peers. Education Requirements
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA. Required Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within 30 days of hire. Essential Skills
Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic methods for all age groups, with a strong grasp of developmental as well as acquired communication and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication abilities with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams. Adept in adjusting therapy techniques to meet the diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds of patients. Strong clinical judgment coupled with excellent problem-solving skills.
