$25–$35/hour based on experience, anesthesia background, and skill assessment
Additional compensation available for anesthesia on-call hours provided through the ER service
Up to $5,000 bonus based on certification and skill set
50% paid after 6 months of employment

Responsibilities As a Surgery Veterinary Technician at Boston West, you’ll work closely with our board-certified surgeons and clinical team to deliver high-level surgical and perioperative patient care. Responsibilities include:
Support patients through all stages of the surgical visit, from admission through recovery
Assist with patient assessments, diagnostics, and treatments
Perform and monitor anesthesia and sedation for a variety of procedures
Prepare and assist during advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, including scrubbing in
Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery to ensure comfort and safety
Provide exceptional client communication and patient advocacy throughout hospitalization
Assist with advanced diagnostic imaging, including CT and C-arm imaging
Maintain accurate medical records and uphold high standards of patient care and safety
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience in a clinical setting
CVT, LVT, or RVT preferred, but not required
Strong anesthesia monitoring skills required
Experience with radiographic technique preferred
Surgical nursing experience strongly preferred
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced specialty hospital environment
Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset
Commitment to patient safety, client service, and high-quality veterinary medicine
Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
