About
GYN Service Line Serves as liaison and coordinates all aspects of care by partnering with physicians (surgeons and anesthesiologists) and vendors, to ensure specialty area needs are addressed. Oversees maintenance of physician preference cards, instrument sets, implants, and equipment for specialty area. Maintains awareness of items that require counts, and assists the circulating nurse with the count process. Measures and passes medications, hemostatic agents, and irrigation solutions utilized during the surgical procedure. Assists in the cleanup of surgical environment after a procedure, ensuring the operating room is cleaned and set up for turnover to the next procedure. Assists in transporting patients, as required. Assists with handling specimens, in accordance with unit policy and procedure, as required. Participates in the surgical site and patient verification during the time out the procedure, to ensure correct patient and site.
Qualifications
2 years Operating Room Experience Required Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Registered Nurse with active Indiana License
