About Us Mid-West Textile LLC is a leader in the textile recycling industry, committed to sustainability, operational excellence, and employee safety. We are seeking a Safety Coordinator who is passionate about creating a safe work environment and ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations. Position Summary The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting workplace safety programs across manufacturing, warehouse, and operational environments. This position will assist with safety training, inspections, incident investigations, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to help maintain a safe and productive workplace. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or industrial environments and possesses strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices. Essential Responsibilities
Conduct routine safety inspections and identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and opportunities for improvement. Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and documentation. Coordinate new hire safety orientations and ongoing employee safety training. Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Maintain safety records, training logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation. Support emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness activities. Partner with supervisors and employees to promote a positive safety culture. Track and report safety metrics, incidents, corrective actions, and compliance activities. Assist with audits and regulatory inspections. Recommend improvements to reduce workplace risks and improve safety performance. Participate in safety committee meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 2 years of safety experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or distribution environment. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices. Experience conducting safety inspections, investigations, and employee training. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 30 Certification preferred. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), CHST, or related certification preferred. Experience with workers' compensation claims management and return-to-work programs. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Experience in manufacturing, recycling, logistics, or warehouse operations strongly preferred.
Work Environment
Manufacturing and warehouse environment. Combination of office and production floor activities. Must be able to walk production areas, conduct inspections, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Occasional travel may be required.
