Sterile Processing Tech at Surgical Institute of Reading The Sterile Processing Technician maintains and cares for all surgical instruments. Prepares supplies and instruments for surgery cases. Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent 1-2 years of Sterile Processing experience required, in a hospital setting preferred Certification preferred or must obtain within 6 months Experience with all types of sterilizers Experience in preprocessing endoscopes or willing to undergo training on scopes and pass competencies within 6 months Knowledge of operating room instrumentation and procedures Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed
