Purpose of the Position

The primary role of the incumbent is to perform all cutting activities for various raw materials (metal, steel, aluminum, etc.) according to the dimensions specified in work orders. The incumbent is responsible for operating machine tools used in material cutting processes.

Responsibilities
  • Based on the work order, retrieve inventory information from the computer system to perform cutting operations and place or remove raw materials from storage;
  • Verify that incoming and outgoing goods match purchase orders, delivery slips, and related documentation;
  • Set up and operate various machine tools required for cutting operations;
  • Operate all types of saws used in the cutting department (vertical, horizontal, circular);
  • Use the shear machine to cut sheet metal according to specifications;
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment;
  • Use the ERP system or any other required software to enter goods receipt data and other relevant information;
  • Store merchandise and replenish raw material inventory;
  • Deliver items to the appropriate internal departments;
  • Assist with unloading trucks using a forklift;
  • Perform cycle counts;
  • Carry out any other related duties.
Job Requirements Education Required
  • High School Diploma (DES) or equivalent;
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience;
  • Relevant vocational diploma (DEP) is considered an asset.
Technical Skills
  • Forklift operation certification;
  • Strong mathematical, calculation, and measurement skills;
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings;
  • Knowledge of various cutting tools;
  • Knowledge of raw materials;
  • Knowledge of AS9100D standards;
  • Excellent command of French (spoken and written). English proficiency is considered an asset.
