POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Résidence du Verger, located in St-Jérôme, offers seniors a warm and safe environment while respecting each individual's needs with integrity and privacy.
We are currently seeking a cook for a TEMPORARY position (maternity leave replacement) for full-time work, 35 hours per week, day shift from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 10-hour shifts, and one weekend out of two.


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble plates of food
  • Ensure and optimize quality standards in the use of food
  • Ensure the kitchen and equipment are kept clean according to established hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Peel and cut vegetables for meals
  • Perform other related duties
  • Plan and cook meals in accordance with the appropriate methods and standards
  • Supervise the preparation of cold meals and desserts
  • Use work methods consistent with the health and safety rules and cleanliness standards in effect
  • When appropriate, collaborate with the chef in the creation of the menus by proposing ideas

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in institutional cuisine or equivelent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the field
  • Good team player
  • Hold the MAPAQ
  • Knowledge of senior residences, a major asset
