Our goal is to lead the Aerospace and Defense industry by leveraging cutting‑edge digital capabilities to innovate solutions, reduce costs, and improve development efficiency.
The Work We are seeking innovative, collaborative leaders to support this transformation. This role emphasizes cross‑organization collaboration and solution architecture. The Systems Engineering Lead interfaces with product teams, Cross‑BA teams, stakeholders, and SEIT leadership to define and deliver digital architecture solutions that support the 1LMX transformation.
Responsibilities
Assess the current state of MBSE on RMS programs (people, process, tools) through direct Program engagement; identify gaps, use cases, improvement opportunities to mature the MBSE discipline.
Build business cases, project plans, and cost estimation for 1LMX investment proposals.
Serve as 1LMX RMS Liaison to LOB eCoP MBSE Leads, LOB MBSE Capability Champions, System Engineering Factory (formerly SEEC), and cross‑BA MBSE leaders.
Create & maintain solution documentation: architectural diagrams, requirements, process flows, test procedures, implementation guides, adoption playbooks, best‑practice manuals, and knowledge‑base articles.
Train & enable stakeholders on solution architecture, configuration, and operation.

Basic Qualifications
8+ years experience of hands‑on MBSE experience developing and delivering MBSE artifacts (system structure, behavior, requirements, and parameters) to support the engineering product lifecycle.
Tool proficiency – expert in at least one of: System Modeling tools (e.g. Cameo, Rhapsody), Requirements Management (e.g. DOORS), IBM ELM environment; familiarity with all.
Proven ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines, including systems engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, and testing.
Demonstrated success delivering complex solutions; model‑based System Architectures, including definition of structure, behavior, interfaces, and data flows.
Strong skill in translating stakeholder needs into coherent system architectures.
Excellent communication skills; capable of presenting complex concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Desired Skills
Relevant experience in systems architecture or model‑based systems engineering (MBSE), with a focus on digital transformation (capabilities, process, tools) or large‑scale business change initiatives.
Background in enterprise or system of systems design and integration.
Ability to convert requirements and needs into conceptual processes that operate within limitations of tools, LM command media and existing LM processes.
Familiarity with program performance requirements and metrics.
Certification or formal training in MBSE (e.g. INCOSE, OMG).
Current LM Systems Architect certification – Qualified level or higher.
Knowledge of model‑based architecture frameworks (DoDAF, MODAF, UAF).
Test planning and execution experience.
Experience authoring playbooks, training guides, or instructional materials.
Experience with Agile/digital methodologies and DevOps practices.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full‑time Remote Telework – The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate Annual base salary range in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York: $147,700 – $255,990.
