As a Phlebotomist, you'll perform high-quality specimen collection, support laboratory operations, and ensure accurate, timely processing of patient samples across the medical center.

What You'll Do As a Phlebotomist, you'll play a vital role in supporting patient care and laboratory accuracy. You'll collect specimens, maintain data integrity, and ensure smooth communication across departments. Responsibilities include:
- Performing phlebotomy and specimen collection using proper techniques and age-appropriate devices
- Ensuring safe handling and proper collection methods to maintain specimen integrity and quality
- Following correct procedures for labeling, accessioning, and delivering specimens to the appropriate department
- Maintaining the specimen collection component of the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Performing patient registration functions for courier specimens
- Responding promptly and professionally to STAT, ASAP, NOW, and outpatient collection requests
- Communicating effectively with departments and alerting appropriate staff regarding STAT orders

Qualifications What We're Looking For Education / Certification / Skills
- High school diploma or GED required
- Phlebotomy certification (CPT) or health-related experience preferred; on-the-job training may be provided
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Typing and basic computer skills required
