Basic Function: To assist in the provision of quality health care. Provide clerical support to the clinical team. Assists with clinical procedures as required.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Print chart preps for upcoming appointments for clinical support to update
- Answer phone calls and pages, coordinating communication with team members and patients
- Complete robust calling, appointment confirmations, etc.
- Obtain lab, radiology or other test results as requested by provider
- Assist with task follow-up and closure
- Schedule patient appointments according to guidelines
- Assist with and promote all processes associated with the Coleman initiative
- Promoting Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives
- Any other clinical duties and responsibilities as requested by management and supervision
Requirements
Knowledge/ Education Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED, experience in ambulatory care preferred
- Must demonstrate computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite. EMR experience preferred
- Must possess a willingness to accept direction from providers and supervisors
- Must possess the ability to work well and with compassion in stressful situations
- Must maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with both patients and co-workers
- Must be keenly aware of the importance of confidentiality in all aspects of the position
