Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Intern to join our Logistic Systems (LS) engineering team. This internship provides hands-on exposure to mechanical system design, layout development, and engineering support activities while contributing to real-world automation and material handling projects.
The selected candidate will support initiatives related to mechanical design, system layouts, CAD modeling, and cross-functional coordination with electrical, controls, and project teams. This role offers meaningful project involvement, technical development opportunities, and potential for full-time employment upon graduation.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Design & Engineering Support Develop and update mechanical system layouts using 2D and 3D CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidEdge preferred). Create and maintain mechanical design documentation including drawings and BOMs. Support conceptual layouts, equipment sizing, and system configuration. Assist with design reviews and revision tracking. Tools, Trackers & Process Improvement
Support development of engineering tools such as costing models and Excel trackers. Maintain design templates and standards. Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency and workflows. Project Coordination & Cross-Functional Support
Assist in gathering project requirements. Support scheduling and tracking of design deliverables. Coordinate with Systems, Controls, and Project teams. Fabrication, Testing & Integration Exposure
Support preparation of design packages for fabrication. Assist with field feedback and design validation. Help track integration milestones. Qualifications
Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Systems, or related field. Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidEdge, or similar). Strong Excel skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills. What You'll Gain:
