This position, Mobile Unit Client Support Specialist (Job Requisition #55131), is open to all State employees and external applicants. In accordance with Title 23, Section 102(d), an applicant must agree to be finger-printed and pass a background investigation to be eligible for this position. The background investigation may include criminal, financial and traffic records checks. Hiring managers will notify applicants who are in the final stage of the interview process of the finger-printing and background check requirement, to which an applicant must agree to be deemed eligible for this position. Applicant will have the right to withdraw their applications before finger-printing and/or a background investigation is conducted. Environmental Factors: Incumbents must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure before the public eye and from telephone inquiries. Due to significant public contact exposure to contagious illnesses is a daily risk. Incumbents must be able to multi-task and prioritize unpredictable workloads. Employees must be able to deal with confused, frustrated, and highly upset customers and handle large sums of money. Within the office setting, normal workplace conditions prevail. Occasional trips outdoors when verifying vehicle identification numbers. Incumbents must be able to perform several job duties within several different units possibly in the same day. The incumbent must be able to travel to other offices with minimal notice to assist when staffing shortages occur and various scheduled hours. Private means of transportation may be required. Overtime work may be required. Minimum Qualifications: Three (3) or more years of office administrative experience that included significant public contact. OR One (1) or more years of experience with the Vermont DMV. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with prior motor vehicle department experience. Special Requirements: A current, valid driver's license is required. An applicant's vision must be correctable to 20/40 (Snellen test) in both eyes, with normal color perception and field of vision. SPECIAL NOTE: The incumbent will serve customers promptly and efficiently while maintaining the minimum production level of 5+ transactions per hour with a 1% or less error rate.
