About the Role: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality nursing care within an residential treatment facility, ensuring the health and well-being of residents. This position involves comprehensive patient care, including pain control, and to support both acute and chronic health conditions. The LPN will provide patient education to empower residents and their families with knowledge about health maintenance and treatment plans. Effective communication in English is essential to accurately document patient information and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Ultimately, the LPN contributes to creating a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment that promotes optimal patient outcomes and quality of life. Minimum Qualifications:
Valid and current Nursing License as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). A minimum of one year of experience working in the Alcohol/Drug and/or Mental Health field is preferred. Experience with Detox patients. Familiarity with CIWA/COWS assessments Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure clear communication. Demonstrated experience in patient care Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Training in patient education techniques and health promotion. Experience working in an AOD/Mental Health environment is preferred, but not required. CPR and First Aid certification. Responsibilities:
Provide basic client care by providing treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures and dressing wounds. Measure and record clients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration. Administer prescribed medications and note times and amounts on clients' medication administration record (MAR) Administer TB tests to all residents and staff as needed/required. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor patient conditions and report any changes or concerns promptly to the supervising nurse or physician. Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards. Skills: The required skills such as patient education, and pain management are applied daily to assess and treat residents' health needs effectively. Strong communication skills in English enable the LPN to document patient information clearly and educate patients and families about care plans and health maintenance. Nursing license ensures that the LPN adheres to professional standards and legal requirements while delivering care. Working within an residential treatment facility requires adaptability and empathy, as the LPN supports a diverse population with varying healthcare needs in a collaborative team environment.
