Über

As a Social Care Worker, you will provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people living in residential care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help young people build confidence, develop life skills and work through the challenges that led to their placement. You will play an important role in creating a stable and caring environment where young people feel safe, listened to and supported to reach their full potential. What Youll Do Build positive, therapeutic relationships with young people through trauma-informed practice Support daily routines including education, activities, health appointments and independent living skills Promote young peoples wellbeing, rights and personal development Contribute to care planning, placement goals and structured interventions Work collaboratively with families, social workers and external professionals Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation Support a warm, safe and welcoming home environment Participate in team meetings, training and ongoing professional development What Were Looking For We are seeking individuals who bring: Empathy, patience and strong communication skills Reliability, resilience and good judgement A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations A positive and collaborative approach to teamwork Essential Requirements Applicants must have: A recognised QQI Level 7 qualification (or higher) in Social Care or a related field such as Psychology, Social Work, Youth & Community Work, Counselling/Psychotherapy, Nursing, Education, Disability Studies or similar OR CORU registration (Desirable) Candidates should also demonstrate: Knowledge of HIQA Standards and Children First Strong professional values and child-centred practice The ability to work flexibly as part of a residential care rota Why Join Emerald Care?
