The Application Development & Integration Services (ADIS) team provides enterprise solutions for the UC San Diego community. We strive to consistently deliver quality and reliable services that help our campus achieve its administrative goals. Our combined technical resources allow us to build, integrate, host, and deliver enterprise services for both our campus and collaboratively with other campuses within the UC system. Additionally, the team offers custom integration and application development services, business analysis services and data management services for a variety of departments on the campus. Works closely with Student Affairs, University Communications and ITS stakeholders to assess evolving needs, identify opportunities for innovation, and recommend scalable, user-centered mobile solutions. Brings a strong technical background, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to align technology initiatives with the university's broader goals in research, education, and community engagement. Responsible for advancing the campus mobile platform, which includes the iOS and Android app, and dependent services and web applications. Direct involvement with the full development life cycle of mobile and dependent services, implementing best practices such as continuous integration and deployment, code reviews, and pair programming. The incumbent mentors junior team members on the technologies of the campus mobile platform. Responsibilities: Support and develop the campus mobile platform (Google Flutter for iOS and Android)
Utilize testing platforms, such as TestFlight, Google Play, and virtual device farms
Implement best practices such as continuous integration and deployment, code reviews, and pair programming
Mentor junior team members on the technologies of the campus mobile platform
QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums. Demonstrated experience integrating third-party libraries, SDKs, and APIs, such as those provided in NodeJS and Dart.
Advanced experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms.
Advanced experience with the full mobile development life cycle, including development, testing, and deployments for iOS and Android.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Advanced knowledge of secure software development.
Highly advanced skills associated with software specification, design, modification, implementation and deployment of large-scale scope. Ability to develop technical designs and implement complex software applications.
Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on background check results.
Employee must be available to work evenings and weekends. Employee must be available to travel as required.
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $97,200 - $182,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $46.55 - $87.16 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
