Job Title: Technical Supervisor (Materials) Application Closing Date: Friday, 12 June 2026 Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering Full Time, Open ended, Campus based only Join us and be part of a vibrant community at Loughborough University. Heres more about the role and what were looking for: The postholder will work as part of a team to co-ordinate technical operations in an academic and research setting, ensuring compliance with safety standards and the effective management of facilities, equipment, resources and technical expertise. Specifically, the postholder will lead a team of technicians responsible for the Materials, Metrology and Thermofluids laboratories and will provide Health and Safety advice. About You Experience of managing in an engineering laboratory, workshop or other technical facility; specific experience in materials, metrology and thermofluids. Ability to line manage specialist technical staff promoting a culture of flexibility and collaboration. Able to offer technical advice and guidance to academic and research staff, assisting with experiment design and materials testing. Track record of operating with high levels of safety, and able to act as School Health and Safety Officer. Why should you Apply?
