Community Assistant Branch Leader

We're Canvas Credit Union

We're passionate about transforming financial services. Our members, families, and the communities we call home motivate everything we do. As part of the credit union movement, we believe in providing our members with education, support, and guidance to build strong financial futures.

Why Canvas?

At Canvas, we're dedicated to transforming financial services from the inside out. Our culture is a top priority and second to none. We strive to balance hard work and high achievement with a fun, supportive environment.

At Canvas, there are five behaviors we live by each day that will continue to help us be known for our heart and our people:

  • The Community Assistant Branch Leader (ABL) champions the Canvas Credit Union vision pillars, including being known for our heart, our people, our ease of use, being a leader in our communities, and ensuring our branch is a household name in the communities we serve. The Community ABL will work closely with the Branch Leader in guiding branch team members to provide exceptional service to our members. In addition, they will observe, coach, and develop branch team members to deepen our relationship with our members. They support the Branch Leader with daily branch functions and lead by example in delivering consistent excellent member service. The Community Branches typically are our middle size and moderately busiest branches in the credit union network based on several factors, including staff size, transaction and production volume, and membership base.
  • Essential duties/responsibilities include ensuring members receive high quality service from all Canvas team members at all touch points in the branch, consistently exceeding credit union goals when performing member financial transactions, opening new accounts, taking loan applications, and selling products and services. They take appropriate action to resolve member issues promptly and coach Canvas team members to do the same. They ensure the branch maintains high levels of operational integrity through routine review of branch logs, checklists, and retention schedules. They work with Branch Leader to evaluate, develop, motivate, train and coach Canvas team members in sales, service, and operational activities. They ensure branch Canvas team members have strong product and process knowledge. They work with Branch Leader to achieve sales and growth goals, conduct daily huddles, weekly team meetings, observe, coach, and develop Canvas team members. They work with Branch Leader for the oversight of all branch operations and operational efficiency. They deepen member relationships by cross-selling products and services through advanced understanding of all financial products and services. They maintain thorough knowledge of lending processes, security and fraud procedures, and the functions of all automated equipment. They serve as a branch-wide source of knowledge on credit union operating procedures to provide necessary support to branch staff. They are responsible for all management functions including hiring, training, conducting monthly one-on-ones, performance management, conflict resolution, scheduling, cross-training and succession planning, timekeeping, etc. They exhibit support for the organization's goals, values, initiatives, and cost control. They follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard members and organization assets. They ensure the application of, and compliance with regulations, policies, procedures, and operational integrity. They comply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements. They keep informed of developments and trends in the financial services industry, particularly regarding new products, services, and technological advances. They recommend and help develop and implement new policies and procedures. They embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job. They provide member service through face-to-face interactions on a daily basis. They perform other job duties as assigned. This role requires becoming a Colorado state Notary Public to facilitate loan documentation and other member requests for notarization in accordance with Colorado state law.
