Drill Press Operator Shift:
1st Shift — 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday Overtime:
Overtime may be mandatory based on business needs. Pay Range:
$18–$22 per hour, based on experience
Position Summary
The Drill Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating drill press equipment to produce precision components that meet print specifications and quality standards. This role may also assist with additional manual machining equipment and production operations within the machine shop. This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude and prior machining experience who can work independently, maintain quality standards, and safely operate manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced production environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Set up and operate drill press machines safely and efficiently Perform machine adjustments and tooling changeovers as needed Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions Select proper tooling and verify feeds, speeds, and machine settings Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment Monitor machine performance and identify defects or inconsistencies Troubleshoot basic machine and tooling issues Maintain accurate production counts and documentation Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements Assist with additional machine shop or production duties as needed Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to read and follow blueprints and production instructions Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Preferred Qualifications
Prior manufacturing or machining experience preferred Experience operating drill presses or similar manual machining equipment preferred Familiarity with precision measuring tools and inspection equipment Previous machine shop or metal manufacturing experience preferred Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and repetitive hand motions Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, metal dust, and moving machinery Benefits
