About
The Merchandising Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Merchandising Department while striving to achieve company goals through communication and training of the Merchandisers. The Merchandising Supervisor acts as a team leader and plays a key role in leading the execution of company and business objectives. The role is also responsible for directing, training, and planning the activities of the department.
Supervisor/Merchandising
- Coordinate all merchandising activities and make sure all products are merchandised to Summit Beverage standards.
- Conduct's monthly meeting to discuss monthly objectives, POS, safety, schedules, etc.
- Ensure all company vehicles are clean and orderly.
- Establish relationships with key account management members.
- Provide coverage for team's sick/vacation time.
- Work closely with delivery management on route changes and suggest efficiencies.
- Assist and cover weekend shifts.
- Ensure products are being placed in an effective and efficient manner.
- Ensure all employees are adhering to uniform policy.
- Work as a team with the Delivery and Sales Management.
Training Responsibilities
- Implement training plan for all new merchandising staff.
- Continually work with current merchandising staff to ensure merchandising standards are being met.
- Work with Sales, Route Supervisors and Management to identify training deficiencies and needs for the merchandising department.
- Attend interdepartmental meetings and educational trainings when appropriate.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Responsible for the hire, discipline, and training of staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations.
- Review and approve timecards for payroll.
- Develop a weekly/monthly schedule and distribute to staff.
- Work with fellow management team members to develop training/educational plans.
- Execute against PFP expectations.
- Ensure all policy and procedures are followed.
- Monitor and provide headcount and OT accounts by trimester.
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Any combination equivalent to the following education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would qualify. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) or more years of professional experience in the beverage industry or closely related field.
- Three (3) or more years in a supervisory, administrative, or management capacity.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Company's vehicle policy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Strong beverage industry and company product knowledge.
- Writing reports, business correspondence and presentations.
- Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in interpreting policies and procedures, delegating responsibilities, monitoring administrative activities, and evaluating the performance of staff and contracted vendors.
- Ability to make administrative decisions in a variety of management areas.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, other governmental agencies, and the general public.
- Ability to promote positive public relations and to convey the objectives of the facility to various groups and individuals.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Excellent management, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Ability to handle wide range of tasks.
- Understand and effectively communicate Summit Beverage's organizational mission and goals.

- Seeing: Must be able to use general office equipment / computer and read reports, pricing tags, product labels, read and interpret documentation. Must be able to see while driving at all times of the day. 75-100%
- Hearing: Must be able to effectively communicate with fellow employees and account contacts. Must be able to hear horn/alarms while in account backstock areas. 75-100%
