This is a strategic and highly influential role where you will act as the organisation’s trusted authority on healthcare cleaning standards, innovation, and performance improvement. What You’ll Be Doing
Strategic Leadership- Support the development and delivery of the national Healthcare Cleaning Strategy.
- Serve as a subject matter authority on NHS National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness, HTM, IPC protocols and all regulatory guidance.
- Shape operational models, bids, and mobilisation plans to enhance compliance and competitive advantage.
- Translate national policy and clinical guidance into practical, workable cleaning procedures.
- Build strong partnerships with Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) leads across healthcare contracts.
- Drive improvements in productivity, consistency, and quality of cleaning delivery.
- Support labour optimisation and data‑led performance programmes.
- Conduct site audits, benchmarking, and compliance reviews to identify improvement opportunities.
- Embed measurable cleaning outcomes aligned to NHS standards and client expectations.
- Evaluate and introduce new cleaning technology, automation, robotics, and digital systems.
- Promote digital performance monitoring and compliance reporting.
- Champion innovation that enhances safety, efficiency, and environmental impact.
- Support ESG goals, including responsible chemical usage and sustainable cleaning models.
- Promote social value and workforce wellbeing across healthcare environments.
- Embed sustainability principles within service delivery.
- Ensure adherence to IPC, Health & Safety, and environmental legislation.
- Provide expert input during client meetings, audits, and reviews.
- Identify and mitigate operational, clinical, and reputational risks.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of all sector legislation and standards.
- Act as an ambassador for Compass One and its innovation-led approach to healthcare cleaning.
- Engage confidently with clients and senior stakeholders to provide expert guidance.
- Develop case studies, insights, and best practice materials to enhance our market reputation.
- Attend healthcare conferences and maintain active membership of bodies such as IPS and AHCP.
- Support the creation of a highly trained, competent healthcare cleaning workforce.
- Work with L&D teams to design and deliver specialist training, including IPC and hygiene standards.
- Champion professional development, certification, and career pathways.
- 5+ years’ experience in healthcare cleaning management within FM, NHS, or specialist cleaning environments.
- In‑depth knowledge of NHS National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness, IPC, HTM, and healthcare audit frameworks.
- Proven ability to deliver excellence, compliance, and innovation in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in productivity optimisation, workforce modelling, and digital cleaning technologies.
- Strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
- Understanding of ESG and sustainability within healthcare or FM.
- Professional qualifications in cleaning science, healthcare environment management, or IPC (e.g., BICSc, RSPH, City & Guilds, ISSA).
- High compliance standards across all healthcare contracts.
- Delivery of key milestones within the healthcare cleaning strategy.
- Tangible improvements in productivity and service quality.
- Adoption of innovative technologies with measurable ROI.
- Strong client satisfaction and audit performance.
- A competent, motivated, and highly skilled cleaning workforce.
