Job Description

We are looking for an experienced senior AI/ML scientist to join our team. You will work closely with leading experts in AI for biology field including our scientific co-founder, Mo Lotfollahi.

In this role, you will:

  • Propose, develop, and evaluate new machine learning models that enable understanding of omics data and its application in drug discovery.
  • Take the lead and collaborate with leading experts in the field on developing solutions for the interdisciplinary problems in biology and drug discovery.
  • Distill your developed solutions into easy-to-install packages with documentation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Ph.D. or MSc. in computer science, mathematics and physics, computationally biology science, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in building, training and fine-tuning natural language models, diffusion/flow matching models and/or large scale vision model based on transformer architecture.
  • Experience working with omics data, single cell and perturbational data.
  • Proven experience using advanced statistical techniques, machine learning, and modern deep learning techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, including core data science libraries such as Scikit-Learn, SciPy, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • Knowledge of software development good practices and collaboration tools, including git-based version control, python package management, and code reviews.
  • Experience cleaning, exploring, and visualising data using packages such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Bokeh, or Plotly.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex machine learning algorithms and statistical methods to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with cloud environments and tools such as Google cloud, Amazon AWS etc is a bonus.
