Senior Electrical Engineer Job Description

Summary: A Derbyshire based engineering company is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background, preferably in power generation or a similar field. They should possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently or as part of a team, and have a good understanding of software such as MATLAB and AutoCAD electrical drawing package.

• Design and Installation: Design electrical systems from conception to installation, ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
• Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with other engineers, departments, and customers to ensure project requirements are met.
• System Modelling and Simulation: Utilize system modelling and simulation techniques to improve the performance of electrical systems.
• Site Visits: Attend site visits as required to oversee projects and provide support.
• Health and Safety: Ensure adherence to relevant health and safety regulations at all times.
• Testing and Troubleshooting: Provide support for testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting electrical systems.

Requirements:

• BEng or equivalent electrical engineering qualification or relevant discipline.
• Strong electrical background – ideally for power generation or similar.
• Good understanding of software such as MATLAB.
• Good understanding of AutoCAD electrical drawing package.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Full UK driving license is beneficial.

Working Conditions:

Based fully remote with travel to sites and facilities when required.
