Electrical Design Engineer

Contract Role - 12 Months, Negotiable DOE, Hybrid Work Option: 2 days on-site per week in Aldermaston. SC/DV Clearance Mandatory.

The Energy Division at ARM is currently recruiting an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to work with a world-leading nuclear defence client.

  1. Deliver high-standard electrical and control instrumentation designs that meet defined requirements across the full engineering lifecycle.
  2. Maintain design intent throughout the lifecycle by liaising with other discipline areas to ensure overall design intent is upheld.
  3. Ensure compliance with ESH&Q and statutory requirements.
  4. Apply engineering best practice and proportionate standards.
  5. Elevate areas of concern to the Principal Engineer.

Requirements:

  • ONC/OND or equivalent in electrical engineering or related field.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of legislation and standards associated with nuclear and/or high-hazard facilities.
  • Experience in producing control and instrumentation designs within a multi-discipline team.
  • History of working in highly regulated environments (preferably nuclear and/or explosives).

To be successful, please note the following minimum qualifications:

Key Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualification in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing control and instrumentation systems.
  • Familiarity with nuclear and/or high-hazard facility regulations and standards.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
