Senior Grid Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Grid Engineer to partner with our client, a renewable energy developer. As a key advisor on grid capacity evaluations, you will guide project origination decisions and manage the entire grid connection process from inception to project energization.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the Grid Connection Process: Oversee the grid connection process for renewable energy projects from concept through to commissioning.
- Liaise with DNOs and National Grid: Prepare, submit, and review grid connection applications with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and National Grid.
- Monitor Policy Developments: Stay informed of trends and developments in DNO and NGESO policies impacting grid connection opportunities.
- Manage ICP Tender Processes: Define scope of work, review responses, and select contractors for Interconnector Capacity Package (ICP) tenders.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ Years of Experience: Hold 5+ years of experience in a similar role within a renewable energy developer, DNO, National Grid, or technical consultancy.
- Electrical Engineering Background: Possess an electrical engineering background, holding a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred) or equivalent industry experience.
- UK Utility Sector Knowledge: Have strong knowledge of the UK utility or Renewable Energy sectors.
- Grid Code Compliance Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in grid code compliance, DNO/NGESO connection procedures, and administrative authorizations required for connecting renewable plants in the UK market.
- Eligibility to Work in the UK: Be eligible to work full-time in the UK—visa sponsorship is not available.
