Operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment, computer, and image management systems utilized in performing MRI exams. Collaborates with the radiologist and fellow staff members regarding patient testing. Complies with MRI safe practices at all times. Assists in the diagnosis and treatment of neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Acquires or produces tomographic images of designated portions of the human body to obtain a diagnosis using magnetic resonance imaging equipment. Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality and patient data/history). Performs contrast injections under the direct supervision of the radiologist or designated physician. Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited Radiology program Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information relating to patients, families, physicians and nursing personnel. Ability to maintain a high degree of maturity and exercise individual judgment in working with patients, equipment, and personnel that are involved in MRI exams. Skills in technical data interpretation. ARMRIT - Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist - American Registry of MRI Technologists within 1 Year Knowledge of Insurance Benefit and Eligibility Websites. Knowledge of Medical Insurance Terminology. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Lehigh Valley Health Network is an equal opportunity employer.
