Overview:

The Access Control Associate is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by operating electronic screening devices, monitoring employee and guest access points, and ensuring compliance with park safety protocols.


Responsibilities:

• Operate walk-through screening devices, x-ray equipment, handheld wands, and other equipment to screen guests and employees.
• Monitor fixed security posts including guest and team member entry/exit points and parking areas.
• Verify employee credentials and ensure proper access control at designated entry points.
• Maintain consistent attendance and adhere to posted schedules.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, team members, and management via in-person interactions, phone, and portable radio.
• Collaborate effectively with fellow officers, park staff, and management.
• Complete detailed and accurate reports and documentation in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Assist with general cleaning and upkeep of assigned areas as needed or directed.
• Perform duties in outdoor environments, including exposure to direct sunlight, wet/humid conditions, extreme heat, and cold for extended periods.
• Carry out responsibilities independently with minimal direct supervision.


Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be outgoing, approachable, and guest-focused.
  • Proficient in English—speaking, reading, writing, and understanding.
  • Comfortable using and communicating via phone and portable radio.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to work around metal detectors and x-ray screening equipment.
  • Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions for prolonged periods.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the Park is required.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak season (Memorial Day to Labor Day).
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, ability to multitask, and capacity to manage moderate stress levels.
