Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent provides administrative and secretarial support.
The School of Religious Studies (SRS) is looking to hire currently enrolled McGill student.
Hiring Unit:
School of Religious Studies
Position Summary:
Greet all visitors, students, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
Answer, screen and direct incoming phone calls and inquiries.
Manage a general email inbox, responding to inquiries or forwarding them to the appropriate staff member.
Maintain a ty and organized reception area
Perform basic clerical duties, including photocopying, scanning filing, and data entry.
Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages
Help prepare departmental events, meetings, or projects. (assembling materials, preparing name tags, etc.).
Monitor and maintain office supplies/printer paper and notify the supervisor when supplies are low.
Qualifications & Skills:
Must be a current McGill student eligible for the Work Study Program.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (French is an asset).
Professional and courteous demeanor with a strong customer-service orientation.
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Previous experience preferred in a customer service or administrative role.
Proficiently in English (both written and spoken, French is an asset).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Must be eligible for the McGill work-study program. Please attach your Proof of Enrollment and Work-Study confirmation letter.
