Schedule: Monday through Friday. 1st shift

Description of the Position: 

The Molded Sheet Operator is a key member of Enflo's operations team.  The Molded Sheet Operator's primary day-to-day responsibility is to ensure molded sheet cell production meets the company's production schedule and cost requirements.  The Molded Sheet Operator will operate and oversee Enflo's presses to ensure that the production of molded sheet of various dimensions and composition meet the specifications of the job.   The Molded Sheet Operator's duties will include press and mold setup, inspection, mold fill and data entry into Epicore. The Molded Sheet Operator reports to the Plant Manager.
 Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Reads and understands requirements of work orders, follows instructions.
  • Uses math skills to learn use of weight scales, hydraulic gauges, micrometers, verniers.
  • Follows the correct procedures to weigh material, pack and press the mold, heat treat, coin press and cut sheets for the specific sheet required.
  • Ensures all molds are clean.
  • Selects the proper resin types and amounts in accordance with the sheet recipe.
  • Wears the appropriate personal protection equipment to prevent contamination from getting into the mold and to ensure personal safety.
  • Follows all manufacturing procedures to ensure sheets are made correctly and in accordance with customer requirements and specifications.
  • Completes all data collection activities including entering data into ERP system.
  • Follows all safety rules when operating the hydraulic presses, ovens and saws.
  • Produces quality material to the specified requirements and tolerances stated on Work Orders
  • Uses standard tolerances as provided if tolerances are not stated.
  • Stops work efforts if unsure if tolerances can be controlled and advises supervisor.
  • Monitors product quality by performing visual examinations for defects, checks product density for compliance to standard range and measures product's physical dimensions.
  • Makes process adjustments to ensure all parameters of orders are met
  • Performs inspections and makes process corrections as needed.
  • Maintains an accurate log of all pertinent information during the manufacturing process for traceability purposes.  
  • Trains other operators as required.
  • Works 40 hours w/overtime as requested.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • 3+ years machine operation experience. Experience in job shop environment helpful.
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs (30 Kg).
  • PC proficiency is helpful. Working knowledge of ERP systems is preferred.
