À propos
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
We seek a highly skilled web designer to complete, create structure and design options for our nonprofit website. We use YRHost to host the website and Namecheap for the name. The volunteer should assess and incorporate our goals and needs and consider our key audiences. The designer should also assess our technical capabilities. The project's deliverable is a draft of architecture and design concepts that we can easily share with a web developer volunteer or a member of our team who will use the guide to create our new site. Our work will take place over multiple meetings in six to nine weeks. In our first meeting, the volunteer should interview us about our desired features, our web capabilities, and our technical expertise. Then, they'll synthesize the information into a requirements briefing. We'll engage in various check-ins, where a member or members of our team will provide feedback. The volunteer will audit our current site to create a draft of site architecture and design options including wireframes, site structure, and other visual elements. As a pan-African, youth-led nonprofit organization, YALDA's mission is to empower young Africans through leadership development, entrepreneurship, education, and strategic networking opportunities. Our website is the primary digital gateway through which youth across the continent and the diaspora learn about our initiatives, apply for programs, connect with peers, and access life-changing opportunities. A well-designed, user-friendly website will: Enhance our visibility and credibility to global partners, donors, and institutions like the African Union, UN agencies, and leading universities Simplify access to opportunities for young Africans looking to join our programs, including training, leadership roles, conferences, and volunteer positions Showcase the work of our branches and members, inspiring others to get involved in meaningful change Strengthen our communication and storytelling, which is vital to attracting new partners, supporters, and media engagement By improving the layout, functionality, and visual appeal of our site, this project will make it easier for us to reach, engage, and serve the youth of Africa. A modern, responsive website is essential for achieving our mission at scale and amplifying the voices of young Africans across the globe. We have already thought about and are prepared to brief you about our current website platform, budget restrictions for the build, our branding collaterals and norms, and information about our stakeholder groups and target audiences. We've also compiled some photos and have some language developed that we will share with you and samples of sites we like.
Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa Mission: YALDA provides a forum for youth on the African continent and those abroad with a commitment to the welfare of Africa. By networking with professionals, mentors and each other, members will increase their capacity to take on positive leadership roles in their universities, countries and on the continent.
