À propos

Staff Product Designer — (Remote, U.S.-based)

Compensation:
$150K–$300K base
+
competitive equity
.

About the Role

Join a
U.S.-remote AI company
building a
cloud-native platform that automates lending workflows
across a highly regulated domain. The team is
~20 people
, recently completed a
$30M+ funding round
(≈
$40M total to date
), and is working with
multiple top-10 lenders
. Impact is large: the product touches a
meaningful share of U.S. mortgage volume
and targets billions in industry cost savings.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end product design
for complex, rule-heavy workflows—from discovery and flows to polished UI in Figma and post-launch iteration.
  • Make hard things easy:
translate dense rules/edge cases into clear steps, helpful defaults, and low-friction paths.
  • Shape human-in-the-loop AI:
decide when to automate, when to ask for input, and how the system explains itself.
  • Design system maturity:
evolve components, patterns, and guidelines so teams ship quickly and consistently.
  • Words matter:
write labels/microcopy that reduce cognitive load and build trust; document requirements clearly for engineering.
  • Learn with users:
run lean research and usability tests; fold insights into fast iterations.
  • Partner with customers & SMEs:
engage closely with client teams to align solutions with real operational constraints.
  • Measure outcomes:
define success metrics, review usage data, and iterate to improve what you ship.

What Great Looks Like Here

  • Strong
    product taste
    —solutions feel obvious in hindsight.
  • Obsession with details (states, keyboard flows, loading, errors, accessibility)
    while still moving fast
    .
  • Systems thinking and crisp communication that makes complexity legible.

What You'll Bring

  • 5–10 years
    designing end-to-end for
    complex SaaS/enterprise tools
    (not brand/marketing only).
  • Portfolio showing
    workflow-heavy products
    , clean UX, and
    high-quality UI craft
    .
  • Deep collaboration with Product & Engineering; experience on
    lean or founding design teams
    .
  • Experience with
    document- or data-driven workflows
    ;
    fintech/lending/regulated
    domains a plus.
  • Fluency in
    Figma
(components, variants, auto-layout); ability to plan/run
    lean research
    .
  • Bonus:
    design systems at multi-team scale
    , basic
    CSS/code
    , and products with
    automation/assistants/AI
    .
  • U.S. residency and ability to work across U.S. time zones; occasional client travel.

Logistics & Comp

  • Location:
    Remote in the
    United States
    only.
  • Compensation:

    +
    competitive equity
    .
  • Hiring plan:
    1–2
    designers for this function.
  • Process:
    ~
    5 steps
with design leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Visa:
    No new sponsorships
    ;
    transfers may be possible
    (case-by-case).
