Provides nursing assessments and develop Individualized Health Care Plans. Attend IEP/504 meetings organized by the Local School District, make recommendations based on nursing assessment.
Train Local School District staff on safe student medication administration including emergency medications as needed. Child-specific training on conditions and health related procedures.
Develop/create/present orientation and training of new employees for School Health. Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR). Knowledge of computer programs. Knowledge of Nursing Processes. Ability to function independently. Qualifications: Minimum:
Florida RN license or a multi-state RN license from another compact state
3 yrs. Nursing Experience. 1 yr. Pediatric Nursing Experience.
Must be able to acquire CPR prior to on-boarding. Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Must have transportation in order to travel to Brevard Public Schools in Brevard County, FL.
