A public sector organisation undergoing rapid expansion and new project development is looking for a Cyber Security Manager to join their team. This hybrid role requires one day per week in the Worcestershire office, with potential flexibility for remote work.

About the Role

This position plays a vital role in enhancing the organisation's cyber security posture and supporting the Enterprise Security Lead in achieving strategic objectives. You will work closely with internal teams and senior stakeholders to strengthen security operations, drive best practices, and ensure compliance with industry security frameworks.

Additionally, you will liaise with external service providers to oversee operational security standards and contribute to security improvement projects across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a trusted security advisor, working across departments to manage security concerns and complete security assurance assessments. Assist in shaping and implementing a cyber security strategy that aligns with industry benchmarks. Take ownership of key cyber security initiatives and projects. Manage the relationship with third-party security providers, ensuring that services meet contractual agreements and security standards.Skills & Experience Required

Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISM, GIAC, CISSP, CISMP, or SANS Certification (preferred). ITIL V3/V4 certification is an advantage. Hands-on experience in cyber security roles, though those with slightly less experience may still be considered. Strong knowledge of industry standards such as ISO27001, CIS-18, NIST CSF, OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK, GDPR. Familiarity with secure development practices (SSDLC) and agile methodologies. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.For more details, please refer to the full role profile.
