Site Reliability Engineer / SRE (Azure)

As a Site Reliability Engineer / SRE, you'll join a small team responsible for delivering and managing business-critical services that are used 24x7 by clients and colleagues across the globe. You'll be deployed to technology teams across the business to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of these services.

Responsibilities will include configuring and maintaining observability platforms such as Datadog, proactive monitoring of production environments, designing and implementing automation and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness, leading incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis activities to mitigate future issues.

You'll collaborate with senior business stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns, and provide updates on projects and systems status. You'll also work with engineering, support, and operations teams to help upskill them and support knowledge transfer via documentation.

Location: There's a hybrid work-from-home model, allowing you to work from most of the week and meet with colleagues in Reigate 1-2 days a week in modern, open-plan offices within a five-minute walk of the station. The office features a smart casual dress code, an onsite restaurant, and a good work-life balance.

About You:

  • You have strong experience in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps.
  • You have experience running 24x7 services in Azure and a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and services, including best practices around monitoring, scaling, and security.
  • You have experience with Datadog or similar tools.
  • You have strong scripting skills with PowerShell (or Python).
  • You have a good knowledge of basic networking and TCP/IP.
  • You have a good understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably with Pulumi but Terraform experience is also fine.
  • You have experience in microservices environments.
  • You are comfortable with technical project leadership.
  • You have excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
