Amey is seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Senior Bridge Engineer to work on a range of exciting consulting projects in Scotland and beyond. Our design hubs are located in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Motherwell, Perth, and Aberdeen, with additional office space in Dumfries, Ayr, Dundee, Nairn, and Huntly.

- Lead a team in producing technically sound engineering solutions, complying with relevant technical standards and client requirements, working unsupervised and supervising junior members of staff.
- Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation as part of scheme deliverables that satisfy quality, cost, and programme criteria.
- Oversee the actions of junior members of staff and take responsibility for their actions.
- Ensure commercial success of projects within portfolio, controlling budgets and managing costs associated with production of deliverables.
- Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings and responding to queries.
- Significantly contribute to bid preparation and general work-winning function.
- Work on site, visiting or full-time but temporary role, including out-of-hours working.
- Assume people manager role when required by business.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree or PhD in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Chartered status (or working towards it) with ICE, IStructE, or other appropriate professional body.
- Demonstrable experience in bridge assessment, design, and/or management.
- Excellent understanding of structural behaviour and analysis.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as DMRB and/or Eurocodes.
- Enjoy working in team environment, sharing ideas, and collaborating with colleagues.
- Proactive approach and commitment to health, safety, and welfare.
- Experience with highway structures and major bridges.
- Experience in FE analysis using Lusas, Atena, or Midas software.
