Role: Hardware Team Lead / Head of Electronics

Location: West London

As a senior leader, you will drive the strategic and operational success of the Electronic & Electrical Engineering function. Your role will focus on fostering technical innovation, enhancing team collaboration, and delivering essential engineering solutions.

Core Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Team Development & Leadership: Manage and mentor the Electronic & Electrical Engineering team, overseeing career progression, performance reviews, and professional development. Promote a high-performance, inclusive culture.
  • Resource Planning & Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment efforts and ensure projects are staffed with highly qualified personnel while balancing team utilisation against business objectives.
  • Technical Excellence & Governance: Implement and refine engineering processes, enforce best practices, and uphold strong technical governance across all projects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other functional leaders to align resources, drive efficiencies, and ensure seamless project execution.
  • Project & Bid Support: Contribute to technical strategy, provide expertise in project estimation, and ensure engineering initiatives align with business objectives.
  • Innovation & Future Readiness: Drive advancements in emerging capabilities such as electrical architecture and product security. Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Leadership: Support compliance with export regulations and cybersecurity standards.
  • Design for Excellence: Ensure engineering outputs optimise manufacturability, supportability, and lifecycle cost, working closely with production teams to meet cost and efficiency targets.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • 9+ years of experience in complex engineering environments.
  • 1+ years in a leadership role.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance if required.
