High Profile Fleet Compliance Manager
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Compliance Manager to join our team in Chard, Somerset. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring vehicle and fleet compliance across up to 40 vehicles at our client's depot.
Main Responsibilities- Maintain vehicles according to servicing schedules, environmental, Health & Safety requirements, and Operator Licence Commitments
- Implement a system for reporting and recording vehicle defects by drivers and rectifying these issues
- Collate and file all vehicle-related documentation, ensuring accuracy and updatability of vehicle files and driver infringements
- Manage accident management processes for cost reduction
- Oversee Tax, MOT, and insurance for the fleet
- Provide advice and guidance on fleet compliance matters to operators and managers
- Monitor and control transport labour costs within budget using robust mechanisms
- Track driver Infringements, OCRS Score, and communicate non-compliance to Drivers
- Manage the Fleet & Compliance Budget and monitor monthly expenditure
- Complete monthly Fleet KPIs, facilitate quarterly fleet audits, monitor performance, and address issues with remedial action plans
- Educated to GCSE, O Level or equivalent
- Fleet vocational qualification (National Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport) is desirable but not essential
- Permanent, Full Time, 45 hours per week. Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications plus Annual Bonus Scheme
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-risk industry
- Knowledge of VOSA / DVSA regulatory requirements, including O Licences and Fleet management activities
- Familiarity with Transport law, EU drivers hours, and WTD, as well as UK Fleet and transport legislation
- Able to work independently and deliver accurate reports under tight deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn other systems (Tachomaster, Fueltech, Tracking, Camera software)
- Knowledge of Health and Safety at work
- Proven management, prioritisation, and communication skills
- Organised, analytical, structural, independent, tenacious, and comfortable communicating with others
