About

As a Senior Nuclear Regulator, you will be the focal point for all Environment Agency interactions on nuclear sites or projects. You will be part of one of our specialist teams and you will have the opportunity to broaden your skills across a number of sectors of the nuclear industry such as nuclear new build and geological disposal.

You will provide specialist advice, guidance and support to our senior managers and external partners, in line with relevant legislation and best practice in order to provide risk-based decision making and support environmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing, reviewing and improving technical documentation, to enable consistent and appropriate application in the business
  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with internal and external partners to influence their activities and promote and enhance the Environment Agency's goals and reputation
  • Developing and implementing systems and tools for monitoring and reporting on service delivery, to assess and interpret operational performance and compliance and advise senior managers on implications and appropriate action
  • Developing, maintaining and sharing technical expertise with staff to improve knowledge and competence throughout the organisation as required
  • Leading or supporting local and national project teams to deliver environmental outcomes

Incident Response:

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
