Team Leader

Operate and maintain equipment in a manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include meeting plant targets for safety, quality, efficiency and cost reduction.

• Work in a manufacturing environment emphasizing teamwork, safety, training and discipline.
• Follow standardized work procedures and work sequence for each process.
• Collaborate with the team to improve standardized processes/methods, identify waste, eliminate waste methodically and standardize new processes/methods.
• Directly responsible for performance of assigned work area.
• Work in a team environment on safety, quality, productivity and cost improvement projects.
• Complete all working documentation, records and reports as requested.
• Understand all company policies and procedures.
• Be proactive and reactive to resolve abnormalities in the process.
• Use key performance indicators as a method of continuous improvement.
• Lead and direct Team Member activity.
• Expected to be completely versed in his/her area and able to adequately instruct anyone to perform these duties.
• Utilize Kaizen in work areas for opportunities to make the area or line efficient.

• Foster employee relations centered on trust and teamwork.
• Demonstrate a personality that works in cooperation with other team members toward building a sense of company teamwork.
• Continuously improve skills as outlined during performance review.
• Attend all required training as outlined on the training matrix.

• Ability to communicate and work well with others in a group environment.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Basic math skills are necessary.

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
• One to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required.

The employee must be capable of working on their feet for long periods of time and occasionally will be required to lift up to 30 pounds.

This position is in a typical manufacturing environment with a high noise level. Personal protective equipment will be required.

The employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
