Role Description:

The Technical Consultant will work within the Delivery environment, organising and overseeing all customer-based IT implementations. They will develop quality processes and installation documentation to meet customer and business requirements. Additionally, they will manage all customer-based IT activities within the Service environment, developing processes to resolve incidents and problems in line with Service Level Agreements.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with project managers to plan activities for oneself and the team. Provide consultancy for pre-sales requirements. Complete customer-based IT implementation projects in various environments (On-premises, Cloud, Hosted). Manage and oversee customer-based IT activities, including: Network infrastructure issues (design and configuration) Hardware platform issues (SAN/Cluster configuration) General infrastructure issues (networking, backups, VMWare/Hyper-V, OS issues, Azure) Consult with internal teams on site-related technical issues and incidents. Ensure technical documentation is completed and updated for internal teams and customers. Maintain and update quality documentation as required. Train clients and staff members as needed. Participate in an on-call rota in both standard and escalatory roles. Travel and work away from home occasionally.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience with Azure ADO for software deployment via pipelines, with strong scripting skills in YAML and PowerShell. Expertise in software deployment automation (both off-the-shelf and bespoke) using automation tools, primarily on Wintel (Linux skills are a plus). Ability to analyse and diagnose infrastructure-related issues (Networking, Storage, Vitalisation, Connectivity, Web services, Windows Server, AD, AV, Security, Azure). Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in producing technical documentation (Training guides, HLD, LLD, Diagrams, DR plans). Ability to provide escalatory support via service desk escalation for customers and support internal departments and pre-sales inquiries. Microsoft Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Software Engineer qualifications (or equivalent) is desirable.
