Contract Mainframe Solution Architect 📍 UK-Based | Hybrid / Remote ⏳ 6-Month Contract (Outside IR35) 💰 Competitive Daily Rate We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Solution Architect for a contract opportunity with a leading organisation. This role is ideal for a generalist with broad expertise across z/OS, CICS, DB2, IMS, and mainframe modernisation. You’ll be responsible for designing and optimising mainframe architectures, supporting cloud migrations, API integrations, and automation initiatives. Key Responsibilities: ✅ Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance mainframe solutions ✅ Define architecture roadmaps and ensure alignment with IT and business strategies ✅ Lead mainframe modernisation, including cloud migration, API enablement, and DevOps adoption ✅ Optimise z/OS, CICS, COBOL, DB2, MQ, IMS, and related technologies ✅ Provide technical leadership in integration, automation, and performance tuning ✅ Collaborate with enterprise architects, engineers, and key stakeholders Required Skills & Experience: ✔ Proven experience as a Mainframe Solution Architect in complex enterprise environments ✔ Expertise in z/OS, CICS, DB2, IMS, COBOL, JCL, REXX, and Assembler ✔ Experience with mainframe modernisation, cloud integration, and API development ✔ Strong understanding of high availability, security, and disaster recovery on mainframes ✔ Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools for mainframes ✔ Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership across projects Apply now with your CV or contact Tristan Thompson at Chapman Tate Associates for more information
