Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

As an HPC Compute Engineer, you will be pivotal in designing, optimizing, and maintaining the high-performance computing infrastructure that powers their software solutions. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage HPC clusters to support computational workloads.

• Optimize existing systems for maximum performance and resource utilization.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within HPC systems and associated tools.

• Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration of software with HPC environments.

• Stay abreast of emerging HPC trends, technologies, and best practices.

• Perform routine maintenance, updates, and capacity planning for HPC infrastructure.

Essential Skills:

• Strong experience with HPC systems, including cluster management and scheduling tools (e.g., Slurm, PBS, or Grid Engine).

• Proficiency in Linux-based systems and shell scripting.

• Experience with performance tuning and optimization of large-scale compute systems.

• Knowledge of parallel computing concepts and frameworks (e.g., MPI, OpenMP).

• Familiarity with networking protocols and storage solutions commonly used in HPC.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in cloud-based HPC solutions (e.g., AWS ParallelCluster, Azure Batch).

• Programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages.

• Exposure to containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Singularity).

• Understanding of machine learning workflows and their integration with HPC.
